(3304113)General SummaryThe MGH Office of the Chief Diversity and
Inclusion Officer (OCDIO) provides executive oversight to the
Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and the Office of
Belonging and Engagement (OBE), as both teams aim to create an
inclusive healthcare environment at Mass General Hospital (MGH).
OBE is committed to elevating the perspectives of the communities
we serve with humility and respect, while using a lens that is
trauma-informed, inclusive and equitable, which support MGH's
strategic initiatives to be at the forefront of an inclusive
healthcare environment. CDI is dedicated to building a diverse
research and clinical workforce, and creating an inclusive, engaged
and respectful environment where everyone can experience a sense of
belonging at MGH.Responsibilities:
- Develop strong and positive working relationships and
partnerships with key hospital and system leaders (e.g., MGB Office
of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (MGB DEI), Graduate Medical
Education (GME), Slavin Academy for Applied Learning in Healthcare,
the Knight Center for Nursing Education, MGB Marketing and
Communications, MGH Development Office and MGB Health Equity and
Community Health).
- Undertake special projects to advance the programmatic vision
and priorities within the Office of the Chief Diversity and
Inclusion Officer (OCDIO) as needed.
- Clearly communicate project timelines, objectives, milestones
and deliverables to stakeholders and oversee the execution of the
overall plan. Provide status updates to implementation and
management leads on a regular basis.
- Monitor project-related analytical work as assigned.
- Contribute to the production of scholarly work that captures
the work of our projects, including program outcome analysis.OCDIO
ProgramsThe OCDIO is comprised of 4 centers/teams. The 2
administrative teams are CDI and OBE, while the clinical teams are
the Center for Gun Violence Prevention (CGVP) and Center for
Immigrant Health (CIH). This role will support initiatives related
to these teams. Responsibilities of the incumbent will be divided
equally (as much as possible) between OBE and CDI to achieve
deliverables for the role. Time commitments may fluctuate between
the groups at times due to deadlines.Office of Belonging and
Engagement (OBE)Reporting to the OBE administrative director, the
incumbent will support activities with the focus of promoting
belonging and engagement for patients, staff, visitors and the
community. An understanding and emphasis of public health and
communications that can be targeted by audience is critical.
- Inclusion Campaign: Provide administrative oversight and
project management, including leading the Inclusion Campaign
Committee, with direction from OBE administrative director.
- Multicultural media program (CoNECTaR): Support clinical leads
of CoNECTaR with project management needs for our multicultural
media health education strategy.
- Signature clinical teams: Provide project management support to
clinical teams (e.g., Center for Immigrant Health, Sickle Cell
Disease Center, Disability Program) as needs arise, with direction
from OBE administrative director.Center for Diversity and Inclusion
(CDI)Reporting to the CDI executive director and supporting the
associate director for learning and education, the incumbent will
be a key member of CDI's Learning and Education Pathway (LEP) and
will provide ongoing coordination and management of the initiative.
The LEP provides MGH employees (e.g., physicians, researchers,
nursing and administrative staff) with the necessary knowledge
related to continuous anti-racism, diversity and inclusion training
opportunities.
- Learning and Education Pathway (LEP): Provide administrative
oversight and project management of the LEP, tailoring trainings to
staff's responsibilities and interests.
- Provide project management for other learning and education
focused projects (e.g., policy and reporting) at the discretion of
the executive director and associate director of learning and
education.Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and
ability to work autonomously. Ability to manage multiple tasks and
projects, and set, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability
to present information in an engaging, understandable manner.
- Good understanding of public health data, summarizing progress
and conducting assessments through a public health and education
lens.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel,
PowerPoint, SharePoint) and proficiency in data tools (e.g., STATA,
SPSS, REDCap, Insight) is desirable.
- Experience, knowledge and interest in the advancement of
diversity, equity and inclusion, especially within learning and/or
healthcare environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and
initiate projects, while able to effectively collaborate and work
as a member of a team.
- Ability to work well with staff across and at all levels within
